Costa Blanca has excellent beaches, considered the best in all of Spain. The area south of Valencia has a wonderful climate, mild winters, hot summers and, above all, wonderful beaches. Not to mention the culture and great local cuisine … The surroundings of Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa are additionally characterized by a specific microclimate, wonderful and beneficial to health, due to the influence of the salty lagoons surrounding the city.
It is warm here in winter. A lot of foreigners live here and a lot of “expats” live here permanently. It’s a great place to invest in real estate and live in Spain. There is great health care, good public and private hospitals, and good schools. And prices for apartments and houses on the Costa Blanca are still among the lowest in all of Spain. The same applies to property taxes and lower property maintenance costs here.
Majorca, Menorca, Formentera and Ibiza. Due to the fact that Majorca was “mastered” by the Germans in the early 70s, Majorca is an expensive place for investment and purchase of real estate in Spain. But this is not the only fact. Majorca is popular and expensive. You need to consider a more complicated journey if you plan to get there by car. You must take the ferry from Denia to Majorca.
Flights to Majorca are also more expensive, and car rental is more expensive. But maybe the most important factor for a potential real estate investor in Mallorca is the fact – in winter Majorca pools often freeze. So we have a skating rink from the pool. Of course, this is a beautiful island and nothing will convince you if you insist that you want a villa in Majorca. Neither the price of the property nor the climate will convince you to another region of Spain.
Ibiza is also an expensive place to buy property in Spain, and if you live somewhere in a well-known resort in Ibiza, then in summer it is better to leave your apartment or house because of the huge number of young tourists looking for strong impressions from all over Europe. Well, unless you’re one of them …
Canary Islands – long flight
Some are convinced of the Canary Islands to buy real estate. And no arguments will convince them of another location to buy property in Spain. But personally, I was always put off by the long flight to Canarias. About 6 hours by plane from Poland. It’s almost a flight to America. Tenerife is the most popular destination for real estate in the Canary Islands and a lot of our compatriots are looking for real estate abroad.
House and flat prices in the Canary Islands are not the most expensive in Spain, but of course if you demand a good location and a high standard, you have to reckon with high property prices. Someone once said that the Canary Islands are the best marketing-promoted product in Europe after World War II.
Because most of us associate the Canary Islands with a paradise on earth, lots of greenery and canaries on palm trees. Hmmm … who was there knows what to write in a moment. Beaches on Tenerife, for example, are black, of volcanic origin. From a bird’s eye view of Tenerife is one “big rock”. You won’t see green there.
I don’t know what Gran Canaria or Fuerteventura looks like, because I have not personally visited these islands, but Fuerteventura – the name comes from the strong wind. The climate on Canarias is also not as great as it may seem, and yet these long hours on the plane personally to me in the Canary Islands have always been effectively discouraging. But here too, your decision and beliefs must prevail.
